About

The Tri-County Midget Football League, was established in 1955 and Incorporated as the TCMFL in 1959, to provide our youth with supervised, competitive athletic games. The main objective of the league, is to promote sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and fair play among all players and coaches.

In the Spring of 2002 we changed our Divisions from weighted (75, 95, 115, Jr. High Unlimited) to unweighted (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior). We now go strictly by age and then Grade. Since the change to Unlimited weight, our League has really grown in size. We continually strive to make the TCMFL the strongest and largest League in the state.

In the Spring of 2006 we split into 2 Conferences, AFC & NFC, with 3 Divisions in each Conference. In doing this, we added more teams to the Playoffs. In the Spring of 2007 we added a few new Organizations which brings us to 22 Organizations. We are steadily looking for more Organizations to join the TCMFL. Also in the Spring of 2007 we added a Junior Varsity Division which was strictly for JV Players. No Varsity players were allowed to play in this division. In 2008 the JV Division folded.

In the Spring of 2010 we grew to a healthy 24 Organizations and went to 3 Conferences (Diamond, Emerald, and Onyx) with 2 Divisions in each conference. We stayed with this setup until 2013 when we started the Eastern Conference to help 6 of our Organizations with their numbers. In 2014 this number in the Eastern Conference grew to 10 Organizations.

The 2015 season is the 60th birthday of the TCMFL. The 2015 season also brings with it a new grading system and new alignment. This grading system and alignment is similar to the power point system used by the NJSIAA for the high schools. This is putting organizations against organizations with similar talent levels.
